Re: The birth of a new Sportsmobile

Great rig, thanks for sharing in detail and for the dismantled views of a 2009 dash

Nice to see other materials in use...

Re: The birth of a new Sportsmobile

KC,

Having seen your SMB before completion, I must say it cleans up very nicely. Nice work, great rig.

We hid our airhorns behind the aluminess front bumper.

...and I saw McBeast smiling, knowing he has a cousin just up the road...

See you down the road.

That thing is a beauty... makes me miss ours. The ones just really look so good with the new grill.. and i love that dash! Nice change of pace. Congrats on a sweet rig.

Re: The birth of a new Sportsmobile

Thanks for all the comments. 14 days and 2000 miles later, still enjoying it. Made lots of mods as well. Will post them later. It's kind of like a Harley, you can't ever stop tinkering....

Does the 3rd captain's seat swivel to face forward?

Re: The birth of a new Sportsmobile

Yes indeed. There is a fourth seat as well, the mount for which is under the small carpet square shown in the pictures. I pull it unless I have 4 passengers (or 2-kids) along for the ride.

Re: The birth of a new Sportsmobile

Aloha K Crain,
How does the Aluminess rack feel up there. We are looking at the same thing for ours but I'm wondering about the weight with the diamond plated flooring.
Is the weight of the whole rack 150lbs or is that just the floor weight as an addition to the rack?
Does it support your weight if you go up there?
Your rig is really nice and it has the look we're trying for too. Our 09 is just starting now.
Thanks,
Harry
