Re: Very Basic Camper

My cargo van interior is even simpler than what you proposed in the first post. Insulated and paneled, a RB 50 bench, the pent house, side windows, 2 captains chairs, a small house battery for lights and 12V plug ins, side storage that is bed height so with bench folded down makes into a 6' x 6' bed. Primitive camping, kayaking & backpacking for gear and people. A great solution for my needs.

That sounds cool. I am thinkiing about a Chevy 1500 AWD passenger van with a GTRV T top, removing the rows of seats and then I can just use a coleman bed and whatever camping supplies I need. It still gets me out of a tent and I can put the seats back in if I need to haul people. I like the versatility of that set up and I love all the great ideas and pics folks have shared on this forum!

Re: Very Basic Camper

Thanks for posting the PDF of the "Transformer"

Something like this would be perfect for me. I had the pop top installed on my 2008 RB Sprinter and have been debating with myself as to whether to convert.

I love having all the convenience right now of being able to carry people and cargo or either one.

But this may be just the thing. I wonder why they discontinued it.

Re: Very Basic Camper

Have you looked at vans for sale on this site?

Herb has his van listed at a very reasonable price.

Check the 'Classifieds'.

As a matter of fact, someone is coming to take a look at it this Saturday.
