I just bought a 2001 E-150 and I want to lifted 6" and I want to put some military tires!
I found some tires 7.50x16 and 9.00x16
But I never heard about the sizes before so I don't know if those tires could fit/safe on the van?
Generally they are not sized in military style. Overall diameter you can go to about 35" with some fender trimming, but with the military being so skinny you might get away without it.
The concern would be more on what the tire is rated for. Have you looked at the tires rating info on the ones you wish to use? It really depends on the weight of your van. An E-150 can't be loaded down as much as the 1 ton E350 so a skinner tire in a D rating should be fine. Looks are up to you but myself I prefer the fat full look under the wheel well. Do you have pics of the van and tires you can post?

These tires are co-op grip spur 7.50x15 which are 9" width and 32" tall and in my opinion I don't think they are very skinny but they are skinny compared with the 265/75

Re: What is the best tire size with 6
Where do you live, where will you be driving and what kind of conditions? For example, those would not be good choices for sand, but would be good for mud.
