Aluminess box with our Tandem Bike Cruiser

To anyone thinking of hauling a Tandem Bike on the SMB......It's possible. With a little help from Aluminess products and Thule "Tandem" bike carrier.

Cheers, Ray

Re: Aluminess box with our Tandem Bike Cruiser

Now that is just too cool. Is the tail end of the bike resting on the spare tire or is it just hanging out there?

Very nice, cool ride too and the little one up front is the best.

CJ,

The tail of the rack is actually hanging out there. I usually put a 2" spacer between the spare tire and the rack when I travel for extra support. It is a super fun cruiser, especially for the little one!

Here is another pic before a short trip down the coast with our Honda 2000 and other junk inside the deluxe box.

Re: Aluminess box with our Tandem Bike Cruiser

Fits nicely, Imp contemplating between the two, I really think I can get by with the 1000 but at the expense I fear it not being adequate

Thanks

I have to agree with your statement Ray, it's as if you come up with a need, a want or a concept and Dave and Travis at Aluminess can make it happen. They created the rack to mount onto the Voyager top on our rig. It hadn't been done before and they pulled it off with style. Same goes for the rear box mounted bike rack (similar to yours but for two single seat bikes).

Great looking setup Ray!

Re: Aluminess box with our Tandem Bike Cruiser

Blackeye,

Your rear mounted bike rack was our inspiration to get our beast of a bike from place to place without adding an extra 3-4 feet on our overall height! We used yours as a model when Dave and I were designing the box. Thanks!

CJ,

I think the 1000 is very under-powered for the $$$. We bought the 2000 for the SMB, but also for emergency or power outage at home. More for your $$$ IMHO. Good luck!
