Best Portable Compressor?

I may end up w space for a portable air compressor ILO an on-board one.

Given the postings about heat build-up on the ARB Twin, plus extra costs, I'm thinking of going "independent". My criteria will be 1) small enough to fit in a rear bumper box, 2) powerful enough to air 2-3 35's, 3) powerful enough to run air tools commonly used in an oops in the wilderness, and 4) reliable.

I'll have a large Magnum inverter and 220 usable AGM Amp hrs of battery capacity. I'm also carrying Yamaha 2000. So, I will be able to operate a 120v compressor out in Nowheresville.

I don't know diddly about portable AC compressors that can do the above. Wait, I have heard from the 5th wheel crowd that Sears sells a good one; but donno it's size.

Can you help w a recommendation?

I have seen other SMB owners use the Extreme Aire compressor with good results.
In fact the one I saw aired up quicker than what my dual compressor Viair can do.
I would guess any high performance 100% duty cycle compressor is going to operate hot.
Its also my belief that if you have a bucks up van, don't short change yourself on inexpensive accessories.
IMO Viair, ARB & Extreme Aire are all quality - compare their specs and choose what works best for you.
I would only choose between 100% duty cycle air compressors.

For my Nissan Frontier project I am going ARB twin.

I had bad luck with the Extreme Air. It kept burning up. My ARB twin has worked flawlessly since I got it last year. Plus, it's fast. I did, however, rig up an air filtering system for it that draws in outside air to keep it cool.

I saw this on a jeep site. I have also seen the same thing chain driven from a starter motor for a portable high volume set up.

They tested airing from 15 to 35 psi in that test. 35 to 70 psi takes a looong time. That test would be quite a bit different using E rated tires aired to apprx 70 psi, I suspect.
On my rig my pressures go from 70 psi down to 35 psi & back. My van gets pretty roly at 35 psi, so no need to go lower IMO.
If you can learn to remember to refill your tank, the Power Tank and CO2 is the quickest way.
I still regret not going that route.

Great backup having one of those tanks on board or just the opposite have one of those compressors to back up the tank
I looked at one of the smaller tanks. I have air bags on the back so I need a compressor. Also my Toyo's are rated lower in pressure than my 285's but they are bigger
