Compressor Type?

The van came with a compressor and tank. Can anyone tell from the crappy iPhone photo what this may be?? I was about to pull the holding bracket down and take a look but the wife caught me walking out with tools on Thanksgiving....you know the rest…

Now I want to know. Guess it can wait but thought someone with a keen eye would know what it was....

Looks like I need to pull both out and clean them up. Probably installed in 2006 when all the rest of the work was done when new.

Adding the picture would help….thanks!

Re: Compressor Type?

Just checked that link, looks great. Have they made many changes since 2006? Is this a decent compressor?

Re: Compressor Type?

Who are you, I don't recognize that avatar?

It's a VERY good compressor. Draws big amps though, so IMO, keep the engine running while using. Have one on my SMB.

Re: Compressor Type?

Good to know Herb!!

Noticed it was not running nearly as good until I started up the engine. Going to drop it out tomorrow and check it out. Squeezed the filter and a ton of dirt and oil came out. Assuming the oil is there on purpose to catch the dirt.

Re: Compressor Type?

The oil is there to trap the dirt. The filter only works properly with the correct oil and the correct amount, so be sure and clean and oil it properly.
