E350 Rubber Floor mats

Hello all,

Looking for suggestions for new rubber floor mats for the driver/passenger front floor area. SMB West provided a pair of the Husky mats, but they aren't working out as well as we thought. Too rigid and bulky. We're looking for a soft rubber version, lower profile.

Curious to see what others have found that works well.

Thanks!
Jeff & Maranda

It's not easy finding floor mats for this van. I looked hard and bought some carpeted mats from a big auto accessory dealer, and they did not at all fit well. I never saw rubber mats available. Perhaps Ford sells them? Or just buy some high durometer neoprene and cut your own.

I cut mats for my F250 out of semi-truck mud flaps. It's about 1/6" thick and they've held up well. Personally I like husky liners I've had them in all my vehicles except the F250 and have a pair waiting for another XJ/MJ to come into my life.

Jage,

Thanks for the input you guys. Sounds like I might go with your suggestion: find a good material, trace the outline of the husky liners and get the bandsaw out.

Jeff, a friend of mine ran into you a few weeks ago in the Valley...you were having a CB installed? Anways, he took a shot of your rig and showed me. I immediately recognized it as yours (front bumper is a distinguishing mark!)

I got carpet mats from Ford, but they said they didn't have rubber ones. I've never had much luck getting aftermarket mats for vans. Just not enough of them out there for someone to go to the trouble I guess.
Costco has pretty good mats in a couple of different colors and I've uses 'em in other rigs, but they don't come close to fitting in the van. You can always cut 'em down, but you'd lose their water retention ability.
If anyone comes up with a good mat, don't keep it a secret.

I'd planned on probably getting these unless I (or someone else) find something better.

What I don't know is if there is any variation on the E-series vans. Will the mats fit a 150 the as well as a 350, or do they just sell them that way.

Those Weathertechs have the same problem as the P.O.S. carpet ones I got. They don't cover the whole floor area in front of the seats! On the drivers side, they don't cover the raised platform for you left foot to rest, and the same with the passenger right foot.

The Huskies do.

Those Weathertechs look pretty good to me. I've only found one set that would cover the front foot rest/wheel wells, but that was back in '98 and they were molded carpet.
P.S. All the E series are the same. Mats will fit for the 150-350

When I ordered my sportsmobile I told them that I wanted the factory cargo van rubber floor in the cab area. They really resisted alot on this and said that ford would not sell the rv package van this way etc. but I was persistent and they came through for me. That I what I really disliked about my syncro westy was all the carpet. I just did not make sense in a van that routinely went the the beach, desert, woods, etc. My SMB has no carpet and I really like it. I have a small hand broom and when it gets really dirty out comes the soap and water.
