Frontier stove

I use this stove in the UK and europe with no hassles and I am wondering about shipping it out to the US with my vehicle that I am using for a 9 month road trip.

So the question is would I be able to use this in park? Yeosmite/ Grand Canyon/ Bryce etc?

I am in the first part of my planning for this trip so would like to get these little things sorted early.
Thanks TJ

Re: Frontier stove

Hope your not backpacking with that. I don't know about the other parks but anything in the Black Hills or all of South Dakota you would not be able to use it. We are still in a major drought and a burn ban is under effect until we get a lot of snow. The only fires allowed are in stoves like a standard Coleman type stove on a hard surface off the ground. This year even the little fires are burning 100s of acres and the big ones burn 1000's

Re: Frontier stove

Even without the drought, there are fire restrictions every year in the West, at least California. Basically, campfires are allowed only in established campgrounds. Outside of established campgrounds, you must uses a gasoline or propane stove or barbeque...no wood or briquets. In addition, wood gathering is not allowed California state parks nor can you gather wood in some areas of National Parks such as in Yosemite Valley itself. You also aren't allowed to bring wood into parks such as Yosemite due to the possibility of pests inside the dead wood. This means that you'd need to purchase wood in the park to use this type of stove.
