Well, I did it...
bought the Yamaha EF1000is generator. scored a new one at a great deal. First real test will be in a few weeks down in Fruita, heading down for 4-5 days of mtn biking w/ the fam
also looks like it'll fit in the Baja box I just picked up as well....

Fruita
Alta-
Post when you're heading over to Fruita. We'll be coming over from Golden quite regularly now that it's warming up. I'm the silver EB-50 with the #47 gumballs on the side and we're usually at the 18 Rd campgraounds or just west of there in the primitive camping BLM lands.

18 Rd is were we set up camp anytime we're in Fruita. Will be there riding early May and will also be there working (and riding, or is it the other way around....)at the Fruita Fat Tire Fest in a few weeks.
I'm hard to miss w/ the Red rig, I will be loaded w/ a bunch of bikes and beer...

I pulled the trigger (well, Visa card) on a Honda EU2000 today. The 1000 was smaller and lighter, but the 2000 was less than $300 more, just a bit bigger in each direction, holds more gas/runs longer, no louder but more pleasant sound, and runs more things if we need to. I hope to pick up our van at Salem Kroger April 18th. Get it set up a bit, then head over to Colorado for a couple weeks of mountain biking and hiking. It might be a little early as far as the snow line will be, but it is a slow time for me at work. oclv

If you have an EB van, one nice thing about the eu2000 is that it fits perfectly between the rear bench and the rear door panel of the van. It is like that space was made to hold the generator. The fit is snug and it is easy to remove while standing behind the van. I keep ours in the van 100% of the time and with the vent on the gas cap closed I've never even gotten a whif of gas.
