Outdoor Shower Mats?

I'm trying to figure out a good solution for a "mat" of sorts that can be used to stand on when using the exterior shower. We need it to be comfortable to stand on, while at the same time raising us off the ground a bit and adequate drainage. Obviously, it must be easy to store and clean as it would be used on pavement, dirt and sand.

One solution I'm thinking about is a marine deck mat, somethin like the "Dri-Dek" which could work well. Dri-deck.com.

Does anyone have any other solutions or suggestions? Thanks for the advice.

After reading this I went out and stood on my Lynx Blocks barefoot... bad news I'm afraid, unless you've got feet of iron!

I use a 20x30 inch teakwood mat .. It's a bunch of 1 inch strips spaced about

a .250 inch apart screwed together with spacers.. It's 1 inch high... I've had

it for 20 years... You can put on top of rocks. I'ts strong.

J.C. Penny online has a 16"x21" teakwood shower mat as you describe for $50. Googled teakwood shower mat.

I got a pretty slick little folding shower mat at the local Sportsman's Warehouse. It is a folding cedar shower platform that uses 1" wide slats that is about 1'x1.5' when it is folded up and stows perfectly in the small compartment in the back where the hot water is.

Nice thing about cedar is that it is also mildew resistant

This could also be something I could easily make. However, teak is a longer lasting material, although more expensive as well. The nice thing about those dri-deck mats I mentioned is that you can throw them anywhere and not worry about scratching the interior of the van. They may be too low to the ground though.

I'll be using a flexible rubber mat that I can roll up and stuff somewhere small. Large wooden platforms sound nice but are a storage issue.

I use a mat that I got at the local hardware store. It's plastic, with a raised rim and a 'diamond plate' texture. About 1.5' x3,' works perfect, and fits in the rear XL storage area. I have no idea what it's intended use was, but it's really just like a knock-off husky liner. The best part it was only $10.

Before I found it I was using a rubbermaid tub; drilled a hole in the side about 1" off the ground so it would drain.

We just leave our flip flops on. No mat needed.
