porta potti use as a stool

i use the porta potti as a stool with the lid on for cooking ,etc-- i understand you are not supposed to sit on it with the lid down but it seems to be a perfect stool--however i have broken the plastic cover twice--does anyone have any suggestions on making a new lid or strengthening the lid it comes with?

er, uh, I think you mean you use the porta potti FOR a stool, not AS a stool.

Re: porta potti use as a stool

I broke mine too......Not real bad but to the point that I have to really pay attention to what I am doing. I thought about overlaying mine with a piece of aluminum sheeting but that was more about keeping the top from coming apart. It wouldn't add anything to the strength. I have been using mine to climb in & out of the rack. I'm sure one day I'll have a foot in it!
Good Luck! WOOT

We do too but broke the lid by stepping on the center of the lid and not stepping on the corner of the closed Porti-Potty. After buying a new one, I added a piece of non-skid staircase tape (the kind that looks like duct tape but with a sandpaper texture) to the front corner. That gives one a "target" to step on which is much stronger than the center of the lid, especially when coming back down backwards.
