Portable Air Compressor Question

Looking for a small portable air compressor. 99% to check and maintain tire pressure. I run 50 front 80 rear on my E250 EB 2wd, so not always available on the road, plus I am the "self contained" type. Not off-roading so use would be minimal. Looking at the VIAIR 90P Portable Compressor. Looking for your educated opinions.

I don't know anything about the VIAIR, but I'll tell you one thing: stay away from the compact Slime-brand style models. They're ok for bicycles, ATV's, and motorcycles, but they heat up fast. It would take days to push the volume of air in a truck tire.

Max. duty cycle: 15% @ 100 PSI
1.77 CFM @ 0 PSI

Not much of a duty cycle, and the flow isn't very high, but to "top off" tire pressure it may be enough.

Viair is a major brand in portable air compressors.

Hmmm, I've never had trouble finding air compressors along regular roads that go up to at least 75 psi (some max out there, especially the fancy digital ones). Although nowadays you'll likely have to pay for the privilege of air. Many membership stores' gas stations (Sam's, Costco) have free air pumps that do the job.

In the Mid-Atlantic region, I love Wawa gas stations because they all have free air compressors for use. Although be prepared for nasty looks from those waiting while you spend 5-10 minutes to top off your 80# tires (speaking from experience) :-)

I have the Vivair 70p for quite a few years now and use it once in awhile without any problems I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. It can handle my 80 psi tires without any problems.

I have the ARB portable unit that comes in a plastic tool box. Draws 25A and can be hooked up to the battery. Not cheap, but sure outlasted a dozen parts store overseas units.

Hose is flexible in the cold. Although the tool box cracked.

Great piece. Airs up fast, has built in heat shut off that has never tripped, and tops out at 90 psi.

I have the VIAIR 400P and it has worked well for me so far. Not much use on it yet though. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We have TMJ air compressorfor the 4Runner., TJM Portable Air Compressor 013TJMCOMP. Does the job and have no problems with it.

Use an ARB mounted in the van. The only issue with the ARB is water getting in the lines from the heat of compression. Need to get a tank and bleeder to drain the water out.

Our rig has a QuickAIR2, high output compressor; 2.5 g tank underside. This set up is for our ARB's and supplies pressure to regulate the tires as needed.
Not sure if SunPower Performance even exists anymore, but this model has served well...
