Re: Portable Fire place - Coleman any input or alternates?

the pit 2 go also likes to slide depending on the flooring you have. I have to keep mine bracketed with other things. Once that baby gets movin, It'll knock the hell out of the sides of the wall. It comes in a nylon case but the feet are exposed.

Re: Portable Fire place - Coleman any input or alternates?

I like the pit 2 go for overall BIG fire

HOWEVER, i ordered the Volcano

PROS:
-Lighter
-Easy set up
-Smaller fire=Less wood
-Less wood for fire = Less i have to carry
-Wife likes to cook over a fire
-Easy for her to make small fire wood or charcol
-It appears it will qualify for a "no fire on the ground" type campground

CONS
-Will have to cut grocery store wood bundle in half with my pocket chain saw
-No big roaring fire

will let ya all know

Re: Portable Fire place - Coleman any input or alternates?

Test drove the Volcano this weekend

Love it!!

I buy the "grocery store" bundles of wood

the Pocket Chain saw makes it easy to cut in half

3 Half pieces make a nice fire for Mrs. Wilson, Cooper the Dog and Me

After the fire burns down, throw the grill on and works great

Easy clean up, easy storage

Bill ,
If the wood you are purchasing is of the soft variety ( Pine , Fur , Poplar ) be careful ! Soft woods produce more Creosote and you can become very ill from using it as a cooking source .
Even the coals can produce some of this toxin . I don't want Mrs. Wilson and Cooper to become ill .

Herb.....I have the propane "campfire in a can". I use it on my patio and take it camping during the fire ban season. It's fake, but works great.
