Interesting Rob...a visible 1? gallon tank? I'd like to hear from the beta testers.

These have been out on the rafting scene for a few years now. Tough, lightweight, etc.

Re: Propane tank "Lite"

DOT approved

dont know if that is worth anything

one would think that if they exploded
would not still be on market

I'm thinking a small one so i can have
a fire ring like Big Dave

Re: Propane tank "Lite"

Even with the DOT approval this tank may not be refillable in some locations .The EPA has become more stringent in recent year's . I checked with on of my Friend's /Customer who is the AmeriGas Distributor in Chinle , Az and he said it was a great idea but could be rejected in some area's of the country due to State and County Code's . I wonder if the manufacturer would have more information ? Look's like a great idea .

Stronger than steel, lighter than aluminum, translucent, and won't explode. What's not to like?

The price?

Very tempting. And even my wife can tell when the tank is getting low.

Re: Propane tank "Lite"

I couldn’t find any dimensions but the lightweight is very worthwhile.

Rob not to hi-jack the thread but I switched to this propane fireplace because it packs up so small. There is also one called campfire in a can. Mine will put out a flame about 3 feet or more into the air on high.

I carry a 20 pound bottle but still haven’t figured how long it will last. You really need to have some kind of windbreak to get the full advantage of any of them. A friend has one that radiates heat (like a big Mr Buddy) which worked OK but it’s not like a fire. I still prefer my pit-2-go but there are places and times when you can’t have a real fire and the propane fire is the way to go.

Dave,

Click on "Purchase"
Then you can select "Details" for any size to get dimensions.

Re: Propane tank "Lite"

Found it...I sure wish they made a smaller version but the 20 lb looks good as my big tank. I found a dealer close by as well. If we all get together and buy 500 of them we could get the SPORTSMOBILE FORUM logo put on them
