Yep. Says in the comments that Rak Attach is making them for Kuat.

Hey this is great.
Seemed like actual pricing/availability for the Rakattach was a little fuzzy, so this ought to make getting one pretty straightforward.

Living here in OC and knowing some of the Hitchswing people (and also some happy customers), it's also quite compelling to to go that route when it's time for one of these. The two devices seem pretty darn comparable in terms of both price and function/load capacity.

This looks awesome, and just what I'm looking for. Is this a size Large, or did you have them make an XL?

This was a custom build out to accommodate the Aluminess bumper and swing out arms. Test fit on a similar van before building. I'm sure they retained the specs. Definitely give them a call.

tlg, since I have the same aluminess setup I figured I would try and ask them to just clone yours. Can you give me the name it was ordered under, a date or invoice number to reference? Feel free to text or call me 510-301-1025

Thanks!

Hey jbird I have the same thing and they built it with the Aluminess in mind. They had one in stock when I ordered mine. I also got the pivot so it swings out to the left opposite the box side. That makes it easier to get in the box and out of the way.

As noted above by MorieSugg, RakAttach is building the Pivot units for Kuat, abeit without the latest loop-style locking pin handle.

But that raises a good point - if you need the medium size, passenger side swing unit you can save over $100 by purchasing the Kuat Pivot from REI during one of their 20% off or rack sales ($239) versus $379 from RakAttach.

Good info Pete. I got mine a year and a half ago with bike rack and motorbike rack in mind. Will hold 300 pounds which is good for my enduro but will have to add a second hitch receiver to use it like that. Awesome for a pivot for my 1Up double MTB rack.

I picked up the Kuat Pivot on the recent sale using the 20% off deal plus my dividend. It won't clear the box on my SMB or the spare tire on my Jeep so I'll be using a hitch extension to move it out. The main problem is the latch. If it clamped down the opposite way it would be fine. As it is I can't close the latch without an extension.
