Thanks Scotty. If I decide to pop for it, I will talk to Pearl first to make sure that solution works. If so, $8.99 is a pretty cheap fix.

Pearl says that will work. I asked wrt maintenance techs, which turns out isn't an issue as you can remove and reinstall the Pearl unit with no loss of connectivity. I didn't ask about recommended brands.
