Rud chains

Has anyone used Rud-matic chains? They seem easy to put on? My tire size will be 285/70/17 and they don't list that size. I've e-mailed them about that. Thanks, RD

Re: Rud chains

I have run Rud chains on 295/75/16 BFG AT tires. They were a snug fit but were very easy to put on and take off. I have since moved up to 315/75/16 BFGs and hve added acouple of links to the Ruds to make them fit. When installed, the Ruds give incredible traction and a relatively smooth ride for running with chains. Bring on the snow.

Re: Rud chains

I know Bill Burke sells them (not to mention uses them). He's at bb4wa.com. It's always great to support someone who supports 4 wheeling.

Wish I set, 2 pair actually.

Re: Rud chains

As a matter of fact, from Bill Burke's e-mail list this morning:

"Easy-on RUD Grip 4x4 snow chains - http://www.bb4wa.com/articles/Chains.htm. RUD has recently lowered our cost for these chains, so we are passing the savings onto you. Our price is now $186. plus shipping for 2 pairs (4 chains)."

Re: Rud chains

I called Bill Burke's to order them but I guess we're outta luck with our 35" Toyo's.
Is there another option available for tires over 33"?
That is without spending $500.00+

Re: Rud chains

For 35" tires or 315's I would suggest Pewag chains. Thats what we had on our Rig. We got them through SMB West. I think they were about $300-400.
