Re: Scan Gauge II

They only sell the latest version, with X-Gage. But, they will upgrade earlier SG II's to the latest.

Re: Scan Gauge II

I assume "Load" is the boost. Anyway my scan gauge seems to match my Auto Meter boost gauge very close. Maybe it has problems with a 7.3.

On mine LOD is Engine Load - Percentage of full power being used.

MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure - PSIA (pounds/square inch absolute). Since static air pressure (sea level) is 14.7psi, numbers above that are boost, and numbers below that are vacuum. I use MAP to monitor boost.

If your Autometer boost gauge reads 0 at no boost, then it is reading PSIG (pounds/square inch gauge) and the numbers will be off by about 15psi.

Re: Scan Gauge II

That makes sense Mike. The numbers didn't match but the gauge on LOD is linear to my boost gauge when throttle is applied. I'll check the MAP selection. I wish the scan gauge showed oil temperature. I also wish scan gauge had an adjustable alarm mode like the autometer gauge. But for the price I'm happy.

Re: Scan Gauge II

Hi,

I have a question:
Can anything upset the instantaneous fuel consumption reading? I have noticed that my van was reading 10 LHK on the freeway and now on the same stretch it reads 20 LHK ... I can't seem to see a reason for this sudden change? The van has no obvious faults the only thing I changed was the TANK TO EMPTY configuration i.e. punched in my fill up.

Thanx for any ideas

Re: Scan Gauge II

I've had my ScanGauge 'forget' the engine configuration (size, # of cylinders, fuel) and that radically changed the consumption.

Re: Scan Gauge II

Mike,

You mention number of cylinders, do you know where that is stated? I haven't configured that info...
I did a factory reset after all as I couldn't figure out what I did wrong... now things are more or less normal again... just the question of number of cyl...

Re: Scan Gauge II

I'm sorry, it was probably engine size I was thinking about.

That is what is referred to as a 'Senior Moment'.
