Scepter cap wrench

Trouble opening your Scepter MFCs due to increased pressure (heat gain or altitude change)? Here's a solution I came across on eBay, though its not cheap by any means. A strap wrench can also work, though probably more challenging to use. More pics in the Ebay ad. FWIW, I ordered one.

Re: Scepter cap wrench

There goes another 40+ bucks. I've had that trouble as well not being able to keep them from leaking by not getting the cap tight enough.

Re: Scepter cap wrench

Yeah I'm just spreading the joy of new stuff lately. I saw a similar tool on iH8Mud forum, where someone built one out of plywood, nicely routered and finished. They did theirs as a two handled version with the cap opening in the middle and two smaller handles on opposite sides. Personally I kind of liked the geek, hi-tech factor of this one, and I never did PM about the cost of the other one.

Sorry for costing you $50.

Re: Scepter cap wrench

Received my $50 (w/shipping) plastic wrench today. Money well spent for a solid, lightweight tool. I really like it despite the price, and it does make loosening and tightening the caps much, much easier. Now to remember to bring it...
