Source for Set of 5 Black Wheel Locks? Or a Mini-Group-Buy?

This may be a dumb question, but what is everyone doing here to secure their wheels, including the spare hanging off the backs of your rigs?

I'd like to buy a set of five wheel locks in black, but can only seem to find sets of four. I found one set of five McGards, but only in chrome.

Any leads would be most helpful.

Or, if there are at least three other out there like me and want to go in on a mini-group buy with me, let me know. I'll find the best deal on sets of four locks and buy five of them. Then split them up and just charge you one-fourth the total price of everything, plus whatever actual shipping costs would be to your address.

Who's in?

IMO wheel locks only stop you, and the tow operator trying to change your tire. In my experience, about 10% of our AAA tire changes involved people with wheel locks who had no idea where it was! Luckily, humans in general follow pretty similar patterns, so it was almost always in the glove box, door pocket, spare wheel well, or trunk storage compartment. I also carried a set, but it's hard to carry all of them, so sometimes it meant a tow to the tire shop (and, internal wheel lock patterns strip easily). Any thief who's in the wheel theft business surely has his own wheel key set.

I think you already have a good deterrent.... Your van is probably too heavy for the car-grade floor jacks the thieves usually use. A good chain and lock would work well on the spare.

On a previous project I used a receiver hitch lock bolt to lock the spare to the rack. Something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Trimax-T-3BLACK-P ... hitch+lock
I cut the lock bolt off and welded the cut end on to the mounting plate so it would pass through a stud hole on the wheel. Put the tire on as usual then add the lock.

I don't bother with wheels on the ground, if they want them bad enough to jack it up a wheel lock won't stop them.

Well, I've always said, "Locks only keep honest people honest."

And it would be a pain to lift the heavy and already lifted van for a $300 wheel & tire combo. Maybe a simple padlock and padded chain for the spare would suffice.

Now who's got three 9/16-18 lug nuts they wanna gift me???

Stock ones don't work with most aftermarket wheels since the lug nut od is too large.
