Telesteps telescoping ladder

I found a company that makes a telescoping ladder. The company is Telesteps. They offer a 10'6" and a 12'6" ladder. When telescoped down, they would be about 21" wide, 4 inches thick, and 28 inches long. They offer a 300 # rating. The web site says they set up in seconds. I thought this might be a good alternative to the rear ladder or side ladder. You could move it anywhere around the van, and it would be tall enough to get up on the van without having to claw up on. Has anyone tried them or seen them???? oclv

Starting to think about one of these and found this thread. My highroof Dodge B350 van is 9 feet tall and the ladders I've seen advertised are about 8 feet or 10 tall. Is longer better, or is that too obvious a question? If the 8 footer gets me up far enough to reach the center of the roof and costs considerably less, would I be foolish not to buy a longer ladder?

I have extension ladders at home that I can use here and even plan to build a folding platform (actually a painter's walkboard) to mount on the side of the garage for roof access while at home but am thinking the telescoping ladder would be great for trips. Thanks!
