John-
I wonder why SMB hasn't contacted you to supply Talons to them for installation on new vehicles? It seems like the bungee cord joke is losing it's humor after all these years...

First the Pico chair, then the Trasharoo and now this! To be fair though, all three of those things are really cool!

Actually Bill, SMB West loves The Door Talon. They had ordered some and have been offering them as an up-grade option. Don't know if it will ever become standard equipment.

Re: THE DOOR TALON. A better way to secure your side door
It ought to be OE. It's a neat bit of kit (As Overland Journal would so pretentiously say). I'd have one myself if I hadn't already made myself one out of 1/16" 7X19 stainless cable.

Re: THE DOOR TALON. A better way to secure your side door
Mark down another extremely happy proud owner of the Door Talon. Just finished the installation, works incredibly well. The instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. The hardest part for me was actually making a slice in the felt lining so I could place the washer and nut. John, thanks again for designing and offering such a quality product. I'm already wondering how I lived without it .

I just finished my first trip with the Door Talon (what a great name!) and also wonder how I ever lived without it!

Re: THE DOOR TALON. A better way to secure your side door
The Talon works great, especially on inclines or when windy, (door stays secure). Nor do I have to go looking for a bungee cord.

Re: THE DOOR TALON. A better way to secure your side door
Hi Guys, I'm having the same problem with my door "popping" loose after driving for a while. It closes nicely. The gap is uniform the entire length of the door and then the "pop"! The top of the door bows out and rubs the right barn door. The door feels tight and with no visible signs of wear to the hinges....... who knows?
Now we need a Door talon for the rear swing arms. I don't think my name will work well with marketing, I call it "a peace of wood for my back door" so that will need some work.... It would be nice to be bungee cord free.

Greg, all you have to do is get pjpvi to help you out with a name. I was calling mine the "side door hook" until Phil pointed out how lame that was and then he came up with "The Door Talon", thanks again Phil.
I'm really happy to hear how much you all are liking this and I am stoked to think that I (in a small way) made your rigs a little better. It's been a great experience for me and best of all it's been a great way to get to know some of you a little better. This is a very good group of people.
Thanks again to everyone for all your support on this.
John
