Vehicle mileage/maintenance tracker

I'm looking for a basic app to log the maintenance, and associated mileage, of all my vehicles. Ive searched and found a number, but they all seem to want access to my Location and various other personal information (pics, contacts,...). I want to be able to easily log my oil changes, air filter changes, spark plug intervals, etc. of four vehicles plus two trailers.

I could easily just prepare an Excel spreadsheet, but having a quick and easy app would be nice.

I haven't found one either. Just been making notes on my phone. Every one of the apps I've tried has a fatal flaw.....or three.

This is what I do, have a page for each of my 3 E-Series vans. Since I do most of my own maintenance/repairs at home this is pretty easy for me.

Plus I'm not an "app" guy, don't even own a "smart phone" so in a way I don't have another choice.

I keep a log book in each of my rigs and everything I do, from fueling to rotating tires, oil changes, windshield wiper changes, etc., is entered in the log with the vehicle mileage and date. That way the information is always with me, and always there...had too many problems with stuff stored on a computer that for one reason or another disappeared. The fueling information has date, time and location so 10 years down the road (I tend to keep my vehicles a long time - the van in my avatar I drove for 32 years) I can tell exactly when and where I was traveling - serves as a great memory jogger.
I do enter fueling information for all my rigs into an Excel spreadsheet that I created. That way I can't lie about the mileage I'm getting...how I know that my 2016 F150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost engine has averaged 20.9 mpg since the day I bought it new - and my V-10 E350 only 11.9!

I've used a lot of computerized maintenance management software over the years at work and found them all to be labor intensive on the front end and having a lot of features that added complication, but were un-needed in my application (industrial equipment repair and maintenance) I think developers want to add as many features to use as selling points, even if the vast majority of users will never use those features. I have no idea why a developer would feel they need your personal information unless it was to use it later to market you even more updates or other services. You might be better off just using Excell, at least it won't spam you with offers of the latest gee wiz, feature laden and expensive software.

I use Fuelly (the free version) on iOS, and it's been great... maybe I'm naive to concerns in using this app? What am I missing?

I'm a technology guy, but only if the technology serves a purpose. Technology for the sake of technology will never rank high on my list, and frankly is typically a negative on my list.

I feel the same way. The only value I see in providing my location, is the value to the app developer in selling ads so that companies can target advertisements to me based on location. For personal privacy, and for professional reasons, I will not allow apps to track my location, and frankly, 95% of the time my GPS location is turned off. That's the flip side however. Unless there's a profit motive for an app developer, an app like this will have a hard time making it to the market.

Roadtrip by Darren Stone for iOS. Unfortunately, I don't believe he has an Android version.

I use Fuel Buddy. It serves my purposes well.
