Re: Wheel Spacers?

That's interesting. I originally wanted steel and Fred talked me out of it and into aluminum.

Wonder what changed? Did he have an aluminum one fail? Certainly the steel is more forgiving if the lugnuts got loose.

At any rate, the aluminum ones I have have been bulletproof and I'm running almost 6000# on the rear axle - static. With the trailer and off road, who knows.

Re: Wheel Spacers?

He didnt say and I didnt ask about the failing. I really got the feeling that-that was what he wanted to sell me not for any real reason just that was what he was pushing when I called. I could be wrong but thats what it felt like.

I bought the Aluminum ones from the Henderson place they have a life time warranty and he was very help full. Price was $250 plus 20 for shipping.
His name is John.

"Only bad thing that I can not install an original wheel onto the spacer."

I don't understand this. What do you mean? Will my factory ford 16 inch wheels work?

Thanks

Re: Wheel Spacers?

Could be he converted to 8x170 like alot of us did.

Otherwise, you're right, it doesn't make much sense.

You talking to me?
Look at my last picture in my orginal post. Do you see the material of the spacer pertuding out past the wheel surface area? Well that "lip" OD is larger than the orginal wheel ID therefore not allowing the stock wheel to sit against the mating area.
These spacers were custom made to fit my American Racing Thugs making everything hub centric. Most aftermarket wheels have a large wheel centers so they can fit many applications making them lug centric which is not as strong as hub centric.
