Re: Wood Stove!
We had that exact stove on our sailboat. A few things to keep in mind: while it will burn wood, or even coal, it works best with charcoal. A wad of newspaper will start the charcoal just fine. If you use wood, you are going to be feeding it all the time.
That thing gets HOT -- and I mean, red hot (literally). Make sure you have plenty of clearance, and a sheet metal heat shield set off from the wall on spacers around the stove is a really good idea. Don't mount the stove anywhere someone can stumble or lean against it.
The pipe gets HOT, too! Even double-wall. Either make a vertical pipe guard, or else add spacers and a heat shield, otherwise somebody, sooner or later, will grab the pipe. They'll definitely regret that!
If you got the kit from Dickinson, it probably came with a damper to install in the flue. If not, find a woodstove shop and get one, or else it will be pretty much impossible to control the stove. The draft slider in the stove base is not enough, you also need a flue damper.
Make sure you have a source for combustion air, the stove produces a pretty good draft.
A removeable ash pan or some kind of easily cleaned surface under the stove is a good idea. It will get dirty.
All that said, we loved our little fireplace/stove! Good luck, and have fun. Stay safe!
