JDB IMPORTS

Having been in the VW camper business for decades and really appreciating how the buyers are very
active outdoors and interesting people I figured the "Sportsmobile" folks were on the same page.
I am not trying to upset Sportsmobile crowd by advertising this 2005,but when I received this one
I knew there were folks out there who would appreciate the value of this unique camper.......JDB

JDB,

I hope you did not take any offense to my earlier post. I just went through a great transaction with another SMB enthusiast when I sold my rig a few weeks ago. This Forum has given many SMB fans good information about their rigs as well a, somewhat, fair grounds for private owners selling their rigs and buying their rigs. What I was simply implying, regarding the vendor badge, is for people to know that they are dealing with a dealer (can be good or bad depending on individual experience) not a private seller. Again, I apologize if I have offended you in any way, I was just trying to uphold this forum's rules which I'm proud to belong too (even though I'm in between SMB's). Good luck with you business and your sale.

Ray

Re: JDB IMPORTS

I think he meant it to go in the discussion of Dealer Posts on the site (forum problems, comments, suggestions), in the thread I locked I invited him to participate in the discussion.

JDB, I understand your point about someone appreciating this van... partially why I left the ad up while it gets discussed. And again, it's not personal we just don't have anything in the structure to address a dealership ad.

Feel free to private message me (PM button below) or we can talk on the phone if you want additional information.

JDB Imports is a purley for profit company. Highly competitive tactics in the VW industry. He is a dealer and only interested in the sale of his sportsmobile.
Does aluminess get to place adds in the classifieds?

Just my opinion

Comment:
his prices appear fair even reasonable
(ex-westy owner here)

Question/Thoughts
Why not have a SEPERATE place for vendors??
They could pay for the ads, help out Mods.
(what is the percentage of paid subscribers vs free members...?)
Any extra could be donated if it generated too much.
How did Trasharoo get listed if we dont have vendors ( i LOVE my trasharoo)?
I know most vendors have seconds and group buy deals which we could save money...

Re: JDB IMPORTS

Vendors are different from car dealers. Anyone can buy a trasharoo, anyone can buy a new SMB from SMB, anyone can buy aluminess products.

At a car dealer with a SMB only one person can buy that SMB. At SMB anyone can buy a new SMB, ergo they are a vendor.

Aluminess is allowed to place ads in the classifieds, and I believe Dave has done so with limited clearance items. What Dave doesn't do (and wouldn't I'm sure) is post "Ladders For Sale", "Front Bumpers for Sale", "Rear Bumpers for Sale".

Among other things Aluminess has their own site for that.

Technically nothing is preventing SMB from listing every used SMB ad and every floor model that's up for sale here in the classifieds. They could, but they don't need to, because they already have their own website. I'm not saying that's why they don't, but if they tried it (which they wouldn't I'm sure) that would be the first point I would raise.

And this isn't about jdbimports, this is about all dealerships across the board. This is about dealer listings, vs. members pointing out dealer listings vs. private listings.

Please try to direct further comments to the proper thread:
