88 e350 EB top fit 2003 e350 EB?

There is 88 class B E350 van local to me, wondering if the bubble top will fit on my 2003, they are both Extended Bodys. Its a complete running camper for $2k, figured if the top fit it would be worth it plus I could gut the sink, heater etc for my interior build

Will it fit?

Thanks

Luke

While I can't say for sure, my preliminary thought would be no.

The body styles were the same from '75-'91, and then changed from '92 and up as far as the gutterline goes. Many people have looked at putting the penthouse from a pre- '92 van on a new generation van and it really isn't feasible.

Without knowing, I'd agree with rockbender- the contour of the roof really isn't the same.

Re: 88 e350 EB top fit 2003 e350 EB?

I know the older body style had a flat or nearly flat gutter line. The newer one has a Slight curve that is higher in the middle. I haven't had a chance to see one yet, but I think the newer roof may be narrower too, which would be a deal breaker. Not sure if the roofline length or curves at the front or back match or not either. If you're in Fresno maybe ask at SMB or Fiberine. If I was closer to Fiberine I would probably get one of theirs and install it myself. Let us know if an older one can be made to work, i am looking to do the same. May have to wait til I have vacation days and get one at fiberine. Good hunting
