advice needed: installing side steps on 2008 E-350 after fender flares

i have Bushwacker fender flares on my 2008 E-350 and want to install these side steps: Ionic 61 Series Black Running Boards

https://runningboardwarehouse.com/sh...111003010.html

the steps i want are apparently 100" but i measure only 98" available between the edges of the Bushwackers, so not knowing exactly how the steps and the flares line up before purchasing them, maybe someone has already navigated through this and knows from first-hand experience if these will work together or not.

thank you !

Z

The link you have lands on a non-existent page---might want to double check it or post the brand name and model number.

If you want to keep your flares and use side steps that might interfere depending on your priority (flares vs. steps) you may have to trim one or the other.

I don't own these, but looking at the website pictures, it seems possible to remove the protective end cap on the steps, cut an inch to inch-and-a-half from each end and replace the end caps.

The steps are aluminum, so cutting on a chop/miter saw should only take a minute or two (use a high tpi blade). Deburr the cut edges, and should be good to go.

OR

Remove a bit of the fender flares to make the steps fit.
If I had these steps, I'd cut the aluminum vs. cut the fender flares.
Hope this helps.
