Re: Beginning the Build...

And a couple more:

Still to do:

- Finish the interior shelf around the perimeter.

- Add window coverings on lower windows.

- Curtain rod and curtain.

- Figure out what we're doing for a floor.

Re: Beginning the Build...New pics added 7/29

Nice progress! Did you do your interior walls yourself? They look nice.
No interest in a plywood floor w/ some covering? I'm decking my floor w/ 19/32 ply sheet and hoping to cover w/ some kind of rubber flooring.

Keep up the good work.

Re: Beginning the Build...New pics added 7/29

Nope, a local shop is doing the interior vinyl panels for us, at the same time they added the high top for us.

For the floor, no plywood. We don't want to drill in the floor.

Our intent was to install a product called VanTred - it was supposed to be a cushioned, contoured "rug", with a rubber topper for the flat flooring on top. The one we ordered via Amazon was THIN, with no contour.

My husband called VanTred this week, and they have no explanation as to why we ended up with this mat. They confirm that the cushion was supposed to exist, and it was supposed to be contoured. Since our order was via an Amazon vendor, all we can figure is that the vendor shipped us a "non VanTred item" in a "VanTred" box.

So he re-ordered one from them directly. It should be here (I hope!) by Friday.

Your van is looking sharp. Did your window shades come from united shades? They look really good.

I second that Looks Great, can you tell me where you got the trim (shades) around the windows on the barn doors and the rear doors. And second are you in the S.J. area. Dave

Yes, this is the company our builder used. Since they're up during the day, and only down at night when not driving, we just got the Night Shades. So far, so good. A little rattle on the barn door shroud, but that WILL be addressed.

The shrouds that are on the (formerly cargo) doors were installed by our van shop. There's a kit to fit the 92-current Ford E-150/250/350's, so he bought the shrouds, made the vinyl panels, and installed the shades too.

And yes, we're in the East Bay area, north of San Jose. The shop that did the work is in San Jose - Happy Vans. Ask for Jesse.
