Re: Dawn Patrol Build

I fabricated a plate to go over the third light and mount the camera on.

Finished up the mounts

The upholstery lady came by to test fit the awning.

Re: Dawn Patrol Build

It's going to rain all week so progress is going to be a bit slow. I managed to get the panel done yesterday. Took forever because I didn't have the right tools. Most of it is covered up anyway. At this point I just need to get on the road already. Hopefully I'll be able to get some work done on the sink cabinet today.

In order from top to bottom:
-4 110v, 2 usb, and 2 toggle switches for the lights
-temp controllers for the air and water heater
-battery monitor
-charge controller
-hot air vent

Re: Dawn Patrol Build

I got some work done on the sink cab. I finally got fed up with not having anything to cut a nice hole so I went to harbor freight and picked up a hole saw kit. And of course it's like 80% off on black friday, but I can't wait. I got a bit further but the sun went down and I wasn't able to get any other good pics. I should be able to finish tomorrow.

Re: Dawn Patrol Build

So I switched out the hinge for a full length one. Looks way better imo.

Cabinet is all cut out.

This is the panel for the other barn door.

All cut and sanded. I'm painting the inside black, lacquering the outside.

before:

After 2 coats:

I should be able to get the lacquer on the other pieces in the morning then get it assembled by lunch. Then I just have to cut the wood for the top corner pieces and I'm done "building" the interior. I'll just have to wire everything and run plumbing.

Re: Dawn Patrol Build

Nice progress, looking good!

...one thing.......lacquer is alcohol soluble, so if you spill alcohol you need to clean up fast......don't ask me how I know this....

Re: Dawn Patrol Build

I'm still going to find some kind of placemat or something to put down. I would love to get a cutting board and cut it to fit. Who knows... That's all crap I can do on the road though. I need to get outta here asap. Snow is falling!

No, out in colorado where I should be by now.

I got the smaller awning from the upholster. It was perfect timing since I was working on the doors.

Just enough to cover the doors and takes about 5 seconds to put up.

Cabinet is all done.

a shower wand comes out the side...

6 switch panel so I can control some stuff from my bed.

Here's the other door. I'll stash the coleman stove in the space and cook on it while it's down. The holes are to hold my cooking utensils.

To give you an idea of how much room it takes up. Not too bad imo.

And someone gave me a new shirt lol
