DYI Fender Flares

Has anyone made their own fender flares... with a universal kit like the one from Pacer or maybe something else? Vehicle specific flares are so darn expensive, I have a hard time justifying the money.

mine cost me 200.00 for all 4 of them then i made them how i wanted them to look

$200 for all 4 is about 1/2 of what I have seen. Where did you get them?

I had good success with the Flexiflare 1.75" kit (From JCWhitney in fall of 2010 ~$40 a corner) on our 2010 chevy awd van. here is an image of the front curb side. Three years after install and they look fine. As a note, I am removing them this week as we've decided to Rhino Line the rockers and wheel well areas and will not reinstal the flairs. We are also having the boulderoffroad 2-3" lift installed this week and thought that removing the flares in combination to RL would give a bit more visible "lift" to the van's look.
