EB permanent bed build

My original idea was to build the framework out of aluminum and bolt it to the floor, now I'm thinking about free spanning between the sidewalls only in order to increase my under bed storage. Think floor joist and hangars.....

Korey at Cardiff Campervans does a cool version of what you are looking for.

Cardiff California Campervan van conversions.

I had him build out my van. The platform comes in sections that you can remove if you need unobstructed storage.

Thanks for the website! Interesting ideas, what is the platform made out of?

Mine are all covered but it must be some 3/4" laminate. I sleep there all the time with my wife. It supports 350+ lbs. over a 6' span without any flex.

Nice, I'm literally thinking about using joist hangars and 2x4 for the base and screwing down 3/4 ply. I've built really elaborate platforms in the past and didn't use half the gadgets...

Wasn't the simplest process but I'm only about 40 bucks in so far.
