Espar heater fuel line

I have a b1lc espar heater that I purchase and mounted at the beginning of summer, it's getting colder and now its time to run the fuel line. The manual says to put the T fitting before the fuel pump, but as far as I know the fuel pump is in the tank. I really don't want to drill into the tank for a separate pickup. Will the heater still work if I put the T fitting after the pump?

Thank you

Re: Espar heater fuel line

It certainly should, but running the heater without the engine running may be a different situation if you need the fuel pump to get fuel to the Espar pump. Perhaps that's why SMB uses a tube to the tank. But maybe the Espar unit can draw fuel right through the regular pump even when it's not operating. And, do you have a stock tank or the aftermarket? I don't know where the pumps are.

It's a stock tank.

It seems we have two threads going on with this subject. I have the same problem. See "engines" section...kt
