Getting ready to start more of my build soon. I have an EB E350 with factory rear air. It works quite well and I'm not sure if I should tear it out or leave it for the build. Of note, I will most likely have a fixed top on it so there'll be more airspace to heat and cool going down the road. More specifically I'm concerned with cooling in the summer.
Thoughts?
One of my van requirements was having the rear AC and heat unit as my kids will be back there and I don't want to depend solely on the front AC. It's hot in California.
I know that you can pull the units and put returns on the lines. If you pull the AC it will effect your whole system as it's all tied together off the main compressor.

Am in the process of rebuilding my interior and went through the same thought process, keep or toss. Decided to keep it for the grandkids in the rear. Have also noticed that the van heats and cool stuff more quickly when it is running.

I have it but it doesn't work right now and I SURE miss it! It takes a long time for the front heater to heat the van in winter, and of course there's no substitute for it in the humidity I live in during summer. Keep it!
I dont think I could survive a summer without the rear ac. I know my son would have hated me back there if I didnt have it, while im up front with the vents on full blast.
OH and when its super cold the heater back there is amazing.
