I have red hair as do my twin boys. My good friend dubbed them the ginger army. So their van is the Ginger Army All Terrain Mobile Headquarters.

And yes. It's their van, not mine. I just drive them on manuevers.

Took a drive down to Shop4seats.com in La Habra yesterday and picked up my Bench sofa and Extend a Bed. I was hoping to see a bunch more of their products, but they really are an assembly deal and all their product heads out the door. Nice folks though and I did get to sit in a couple seats that were heading out to customers.

I originally thought that the lap belts would be integrated into the bench but they are not and I will have to anchor them to the floor as well. No biggy really, but it would have been something for me to consider. I have some fabrication work to do as far as backer plates and leveling plates on either side of the van deck and yes, I will definitely chamfer/fillet the hard edges to prevent any can opener effect on these.

The leather is plush for sure, although I dinged it with a ratchet strap. my bad. here it is in position:

Bed measures 54 wide by 76 Long. Reasonably comfy and I plan to put a topper on it anyway. Nice having the EB here, the bench will be set so the seat mode will come to an inch or two in front of the wheel wells and in bed mode extended forward the front edge will still be behind the side door.

LOL. I know it's silly, but I am having a midlife crisis and I can't sleep 4 people and a dog in a porsche.

And yeah, the sleep deprivation from having twins does something very strange to your mind.....you might find yourself on an airplane with a large cashier's check flying out to buy a van,

Great job on the build so far man! I love the acronym amazing (I am a bit biased as I am a fellow ginger) Thanks for sharing the process I just got mine started and these type of threads are great, they give me a lot of great ideas and keep me from making some mistakes. Have fun on the road with the Ginger Army!

Thanks Dirk. My stuff is a little mundane compared to some of the talent around here and repeats what others have done, but I has hoped it would help with the general inspiration needed by others sharing the long road of a home build. I have big plans though.......and will battle through.

Na, we're all fans at various stages of experience and talent here. Glad to have you along. How you can really impress us is to hold on to that Porsche long with twins. ............Unless it's a Panamera.
