Ford Transit 2016 Adventure Van DIY Conversion for Mountain Biking/Backcountry Skiing

Hi!
2017 was a pretty big deal for us as we finally completed our campervan conversion, sold our house, quit our jobs and hit the road full time!

Our van was built for full time living in mind, so we really wanted all the amenities (composting toilet, pressurized water, oven & stove, 12V fridge, heater, etc) and a lot of storage room for our gear (and because everything we own is in our van now...).

It's built from a 2016 Ford Transit, Extended-Length, High-Roof, 3.7 engine with Limited Slip Differential (LSD).

We use it for skiing, so it's insulated with Thinsulate and we installed a Webasto heater. So far we manage to stay alive (and warm) in -15F temperature

We detailed everything about the build process here:

http://faroutride.com/ford-transit-c...build-journal/

See you on the road!
Antoine

Great website and build! I just found our new espresso maker for the van, Thanks… we currently use an aero press but think we are gonna go with the ROK Presso I assume you guys are liking yours? Happy travels, hope you've found some good snow and no more crazy snowmobile high markers triggering avalanches so close. Stay safe!

Nice website...great documentation....web developers?.....

I read your propex install....one thing to note (for future readers)....if you happen to blow the fuse on the main propex board it's a $2 part and replaceable if you can solder...don't ask me how I know this....at least on the HS2211.

If you bought the unit from Karl at Westy Ventures (highly recommended) he can fix you up with a fuse, and I'm pretty sure that they are also available from Mouser.
