Re: Have a wiring diagram? Dag on rear interior light!

Before calling them I'd unplug the new wiring harness and see if it has an effect.

Crutchfield couldn't help nor did they say the receiver could have been the issue. Man, I really don't have time to work on the van and I don't wanna get raped by the mechanic, because electrical issues always seem to take forever at the shop.

Remove the harness from the head unit and van, and post a picture that shows which wires are connecting to each wire. Or post the list here, it won't be hard to figure out.

Re: Have a wiring diagram? Dag on rear interior light!

Did you double check your headlight switch to make sure it isn't turned all the way bright? This turns on the interior lights. I can't think of any reason their radio harness would affect a dome light. Even if it is backfeeding the "dimmer" circuit, that would make the dash lights turn on, not the dome light.

Well, the interior light is shutting off when the door is closed now! I did nothing different and just went out to get something any noticed it.

Silly electronics! Hooray!

Re: Have a wiring diagram? Dag on rear interior light!

Just FYI, in case this starts happening again. I bet it was just coincidence. The rear dome in my 02 is pretty much junk. It worked intermittently for a long time, then I took it apart and just sort of went through it, cleaning contacts, bending the switch contacts a little, fiddling with switch position. It has worked well for awhile now but I don't expect it to last forever. Things like interior dome lights in vehicles just don't seem to get much attention from the engineering dept.
If it comes back on this may be worth a try. Nothing I did was difficult or required a mechanic, just tinkering with it until it improved. They pop out very easily.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yea, they are pretty flimsy parts.
