Headliner Size?

Does anybody know if there's a difference between the overhead/headliner area between pre-09 and post 09?

My reason for asking is this. The following product, according to J.C. Whitney's amazing configurator, will fit an 08. I have an 09. I did their online chat to ask my question and I'm not convinced I did not just spend five minutes with a robot. Anyway, he, she or it was not helpful.

If the distance between the shade attachment screws is the same, I am golden.

Does anybody happen to know? My van is in Jersey, so I cannot measure it.

Re: Headliner Size?

I am not sure of it but didn't the body change happen in 2008?
And in 2009 they did the new dashboard?
If that is confirmed then I would say the 2008 model will work for all newer ones.

Nice find, to bad they only have that small picture

Re: Headliner Size?

I cannot imagine that the distance changed between sun visors. Then again, I guess I could. Maybe I'll call the local Ford dealer and ask.

Re: Headliner Size?

Think this is the manufcturer's website, but it's about as lousy a website as can be imagined. Ther's a phone number though.

[EDIT: See this retailer. According to their website (take that at face value) it fits an '09]

Re: Headliner Size?

The headliner shelf came and it actually looks like it'll fit. I won't know for a few days, though.

I carried it down to where I park - this is New York and I must walk a quarter mile or so to my van - and attempted to install it. Came to a fast halt when I saw that the sun visors are held on with nuts, not screws.

No problem. I walk home and get a 3/16th nut driver, which I luckily have, and walk back. Too small. By now, it's kind of dark and cold and windy, so I thought "to hell with it, I'll just do it tomorrow."

But, after I got home and had a bite and realized I had to walk the dog, I thought "why not?," got my 1/4" nut driver and headed back. Nice, cold walk by the Hudson River. Got there and guess what? Too big.

Wow. I get home and just spent half an hour looking through the factory manual for something, anything, on those nuts. Nothing. I guess they're too insignificant. I think it's the first thing I ever looked for in a factory manual and did not find.

Anyway, I could only surmise that I'm dealing with metric here. So yes, Ford, thanks for forcing me to buy a metric nut driver set. Just because the U.S., Liberia and Myanmar are the only countries left that are not metric, why must I do this?

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted.

Paul
