Re: holy heat wave batman

my wife and i complain about all the wet stuff here in the pacific northwest but really it is a paradise of sorts. and even in the _heat_ of the summer rarely needed much more than 10 or so minutes of the fantastic fan on high to get the interior of the rig (our prior trailer or now our van) comfortable when back in camp after playing near the river. I do really feel for those living/playing in the real hot climates, i don't know if my wife and i could enjoy it much (we are transplants from Reno area but it never got unbearable there for us.)

Re: holy heat wave batman

We moved from Florida to Las Vegas in 1989. I was surprised then at how much easier it was to take 110+ degree weather in Vegas with no humidity than 85 degrees in Florida with high humidity. Before Florida we lived in Iowa. We had no air conditioning in Iowa. I can't even imagine the hot weather in the Mid-West and East right now with the sweltering humidity. I feel fairly cool in our 100 degree temperatures. My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering right now.

Re: holy heat wave batman

i read more and more about the climate out west and i pay particular attention to northern nevada.

im relocating there (most likely elko county) in 2 years. i have to say it sounds wonderful. a trip to see it for myself is planned soon.

currently in bergen county new jersey (lifer so far haha) and its is unbelievable. granted, the season changes are great and we dont get the really bad weather events but this heat wave is something to be reckoned with. folks in a nearby town baked cookies on their car dash and gave em out to neighbors.

no kidding

Re: holy heat wave batman

Was at the beach (Dewey Beach, De) this past week. Strange weather besides being brutally hot. Wednesday the fog rolled in and never burned off. Really odd to spend the whole day in fog.
As opposed to "in a fog" which I've done several times before.
