how do you install what generator under a ford van?

Fuel supply: Auxiliary Fuel Port



The SMB's I saw in Fresno, and the rescue vehicles sent to Qatar had Onan generators. Onan has underfloor mounting kits for specific models. The generator was mounted right behind the rear axle between the frame rails. It looked a lot further forward than TwoLost's.

Look for photos of Twolost's rig. The big yellow thing under the rear bumper is the generator.

It doesn't. Vibration is really not noticeable and the humming inside, is not intrusive and doesn't require you to raise your voice to maintain a normal conversation.

Outside is a different story altogether. Loud enough that I try to park away from neighbors to avoid bothering them. I don't understand why they don't fit these things with a muffler.

I tried to take some pictures of the generator under my van, but the lighting just isn't there for the pictures to work. The doc's posted by J.Whitbread are probably better and more descriptive than anything I could have come up with anyway...

SMB removed the existing undercarriage tire carrier and installed the genset and an Aluminess tire carrier in the rear.
