Re: Introduction; New Build

Visited the van yesterday to check on build progress. The upstairs furring strips are in and the silicone adhesive is dry.

The electrical plan and access bays are mapped out.

Choosing fabrics wasn't easy, but it's sure nice to pick from lots of pretty options.

Jeff had some great updates to the design. To make it easy to add new devices in the future, he's making a wiring channel from the electrical bay to the driving cab. He refined the galley design to fit more fresh water. He also planned access panels for the electrical bays, so that we'll be able to service everything. It's really fun to work with a creative problem solver.

For more information and pictures, check out our blog post here: http://www.advanturetrek.com/2012/01/build-update/

Stay tuned for more updates. Things will happen fast in the next few weeks. Next week, the electrical, subflooring, furring, and insulation will be complete.

Re: Introduction; New Build

The build progresses. The electrical wiring, subfloor, and upstairs furring are in. The upstairs windows and fan are installed. Jeff built a ground plane into the ceiling for the antenna. He also through-bolted the feet of the roof rack into the furring for reinforcement. The hoop steps are installed and looking sharp.
We brought a checklist for reviewing the wiring. This was very helpful for making sure that nothing gets left out.
In the next week, Jeff plans to install the downstairs windows, insulate, and seal up the walls.

It's fun to see the build come together.

Hay Brent, your more them welcome to "camp it up" and watch the build. This unit is going to look and function great. Going to be alot of visual changes in the next week. It's also been a pleasure working with wonderful people that are open to custom designs because after all "no two should be alike".
