Keyhole hangers for door galley

I don't have a typical SMB door galley, but I have a similar one that is permanently mounted inside the 60/40 doors where the door galley would be. I'm rebuilding mine and thought of hanging it on the door to make it an actual door galley. Problem is, it will probably get climbed on to get to the penthouse from time to time. What I would like to do is just remount it where it is, but with keyhole hangers or something NOT permanent, where I could yank it out of the way to open up door space, carry it to a picnic table at camp, etc. I was thinking of these. Anyone got a better idea?

Here's my present not-really-a-door galley, in an old pic of the van. It is bolted to the front of the passenger side bench

I want to put the new improved one there instead of on the door, but not a permanent mount. I'm thinking these

It will be sitting on the floor so I just need it to stay there. Thoughts?

Those should work. But what direction do you want the cabinet to slide? If it slides to the front it could come loose in a quick stop. To the left or right it could slip out in a turn. Towards the back would seem he best.

Up and down. I thought I could just drop it in to place at floor level, which will require some precision when mounting of course.

Re: Keyhole hangers for door galley

The idea keeping it supported mostly by the existing floor is great----good thinking! Since the door shell isn't really strong enough to attach anything step or ladder like and still be safe plus not affect the door itself you're definitely on the right path.

While there are a few other types of similar hanger devices these would probably work perfectly for you application Scotty, IMHO anyway!

There is a site I frequent for latches, hinges and such, give it a look-see, maybe something there will be helpful? http://www.industrialhwe.com/content/categories.asp

Thanks JWA. I didn't find exactly what I am looking for there, yet, but that's a cool site. Bookmarked.

Here is another keyhole hanger, but at least it is rated for weight (20#):

Re: Keyhole hangers for door galley

We have that same modular setup in ours. We have the galley set up to where it can be removed by undoing 2 wingnuts. The bolts run through the end of the permanent wall on the main counter through the back wall of the galley. It's a simple 2 minute job to pull it out. We often remove it while we're in camp and sometimes leave it home all together.

Thanks Brian. That's the way mine was done too. I'm just thinking of something even quicker and simpler than wing nuts. Also, on mine, the long bolts for the wing nuts go all the way through the bench frame, so when you remove them it is loose.

Maybe some 1/4 turn Dzus fasteners? Not sure of their holding capacity though.
