I'm not going to lie... I am not a fan of many of the van bumpers on the market these days and to top it off, they're too damn expensive anyway. So I had resigned myself to just designing my own bumper and building it at my leisure. Jeremy and I had been tossing design ideas back and forth one day and we stumbled upon pictures of some pretty trick truck bumpers. A little more investigation and I found what was pretty close to what I was envisioning for my design. Pulled the trigger on the bumper, fab'd up some mounts (more will be available soon) and got it mounted up today. I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I've found my favorite bumper for vans...and it isn't even a van bumper!

Still a bunch of work to do. Waiting on more lights and I'll be adding some custom fab'd bits for fun. Since the bumper had to be trimmed a little to fit and I had to move some of the internal bracing and weld it back on, I'll be having this re-powdercoated.

I got ask, where did you find that bumper? It is truly a thing of beauty. I'm looking forward to seeing what bits you had to it.
cheers
Darryl

Dig it. It really dials in that 08+ front end.

Thanks guys!

Yep, it is an ARB Sahara. If you look at a 2008 F-series, the shape of the grill and headlights is very similar to the E-series (2008+). There are some differences between the truck and the van in terms of how to mount the bumper but I've come up with an idea that will make it pretty close to bolt-on if others are interested.

I hand made this set of mounts but I'll use my frame CAD model and some measurements on the current set up to design some laser cut parts for others.

I'm also going to fit this to an '07 van for a local member here soon too.

Nice work MG. Definitely looks better with the light assemblies in. That bumper looks like it has lots of places for more bells and whistles.

Thanks all! Yeah, there are definitely a few more bells and whistles to install. It even comes with an integrated bottle opener!
