Need some help: How to build a penthouse bed.

Hi,
I was going to pick up the upper bed from SMB in the summer but it looks like I will need the bed before the summer. As such, I plan to build my own, and would like to get some specific instructions on how. Well, my SMB is still on its way and expected to be here in a couple of days. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Spec: GMC3500 (2007) PH top.

Specific questions are:

1. I see 1 piece, 2 pieces and 3 pieces design. What are the pros and cons?
2. What is the right size for each piece? I am told (39 3/4 wide x 69 inches long) for one piece design.
3. Where do I buy the hardware to mount the bed to the ceiling?
4. Can someone pelase post detailed pictures?
5. What is the overall thickness of the bed ?

Thanks in advance.
