Please post when you here. I’m ready to pull the trigger on a high pop top.

A high pop top? Are you talking 14" or ??? They haven't done a high pop top... I was doing a 24" pop top from my fixed top (with opt) & scrapped the project when it wouldn't work. As far as I know it's only do able if you brace the sides from flexing out. Which defeats the purpose all together... if you're going to do a high pop top the it's CCV & the 20" it's the only high pop top on the market.

Likely CCV 20" if thats my only option. It is a good option too. I have a fixed top now (contempt I think) so I am hoping the cut for that works with a new pop top from CCV.

Mark, I would love some more insights into the challenges with the 24" top because I was considering that for my van. I was thinking start with 24" fixed top initially, with the option of popping it in the future if I thought I wanted the extra room. Seemed like a reasonable plan with the Opt DIY kit but this is not based on any actual experience with the tops. Do you mean the fiberglass top needs bracing? Thx

Hey hey Smoker if you go fixed top it will be really hard to go pop top with out a lot of headaches. Fix tops are bonded & bonded down really well, you'd ruin that top before getting it off. Issues with a 24" pop top is the sides are to big & not structurally sound, flex out, even with bracing (which wouldn't look very pleasing to the eye inside the top) its to tall when popped in windy conditions. The only pop top out there that works is the CCV 20" high top but if your taller than 5'9" you may hit your head in certain spots.
