PH Top Access

I pulled the trigger on a mid-height CCV top being installed late July. For those of you that use and sleep in your penthouse tops, what types of access methods are you using? Please share pics of your ladders or other creative ways to get up to that nest.
Thanks!

Step on counter and into the bed. I do have the smaller fridge, so my counter is not super tall in the 50 floorplan.

SMB sells a small bunk ladder, but most people find it a pain to stow since its height is greater than the width of the van (at least in the Sprinter). Fortunately we have counter space below the foot of the penthouse bed, so typically use a step stool to step up on the counter, then grab one of the scissor support rods and climb to the bed. If relatives are wanting to sleep up there, usually I bring a light duty 4' stepladder that makes things easier.

At the end of our counter there is a flip down step loop. We have a walkthrough layout.

I carry one of those plastic flat folding step stools to reach the fridge and then step up to the bed.

Exactly what Waymon said. If the fridge/counter is too tall then a small step stool could be used for that first step to the counter.

Van Penthouse Steps

Was not really planned but as soon as we got the cabinet installed after getting the penthouse it was clear that it would provide our bed access.

Like others, we use the countertop (over a 4 cf refrigerator so it is a little taller) to reach the bed in our EB-50. Rather than using a stool, we pull out the Porta Potty (need it in the middle of the night anyway) and use that to climb up on the countertop. But after cracking the lid on our original Porta Potty several times and replacing lids too often, we traded it out for a 2.6 gallon Dometic Portable RV/Marine Toilet (purchased from Camping World). It is slightly shorter and fits in the space of the Thetford but can be used as a step stool due to the stronger design of the lid.
