Windows from an old-style 89 fit a new-style 03? That's surprising. (Or is that a typo?)

Re: pop out windows

No typo, I actually still own an 89 e150, (pictured on my Avital)though the donor windows did come from a junk yard. Were their two different makes of e350 in 03? I was thinking that they made the changes in body in '04?

As someone actually in the auto/truck glass biz I can absolutely without doubt say anything from '89 will NOT fit anything past '91---take that to the bank because its a fact!

They are significantly different in size & how they're installed, no compatibility whatsoever. Only real similarity is both versions have some degree of transparency.

Re: pop out windows

Right on, so what would be the earliest van that would be compatible with an 03? I'm curious because I'd be surprised if the salvage yard made a mistake with the year of the van I drew the windows from. On the other hand maybe my memory is failing, but the donor van seemed to be a replica of the 89 I own, only in maroon instead of white.

P.s. Thanks for the insight on floor insulation, my experience leads me to agree with you. Breath ability seems to be most important.

Re: pop out windows

Duh, 91...my bad. I guess that's why proof reading is a good practice.

Re: pop out windows

The current design (now sadly discontinued) runs 1992 model year and newer. Even though there changes along the way, the major body components,in general, stayed the same from 1992 on.

The windows you installed in your 2003 came from a van built from 1992 to around 2001. After that it was very rare to find a van with rear pop out windows. The Chateau model had them for a bit longer, I think, but then the option was no longer offered.
