If you’re converting to 4x4 next, why new tires and brakes and ujoints?

So we finally got a day without the threat of rain so the drip rail got done! Yea! I first ground out the whole entire roof rail with a heavy wire wheel on a die grinder. Then repaired the rust issue shown previously. Then treated the whole drip rail with rust-mort to get down in the nooks and crannies. Today I feathered the factory paint away from the drip rail. Prepped the drip rail and sprayed a good epoxy primer around and inside the drip rail to cover any bare metal. Then I went over the entire drip rail with 3-m seam sealer to keep the water out for many years to come.. this is the job I did not trust the body shop to do! I don't want rust to come through my new paint job!

Rallypanam- to answer your question, Just to drive it.. tires will go on my dodge when they are replaced.. might do the axle swap first leaving it two wheel drive till I can afford to do the transfer case.. main reason 4x4 swap and paint job = 20k so it's going to take time. I need it safe and driving.. between modifications.

Its back, and getting better!

Its been a while since I have posted and the van has underwent a lot more modifications. The body shop took several weeks and now I have a completely new looking van! The 4x4 swap is underway and the front axel is in, waiting on the trans shop to install the transfer case this week.

its getting the original 50k mile trans updated and changed over to 4x4. New planetary gears, heavy duty clutches, new valve body, dual disk torque converter, etc.. don't want to have trans issues with the new 35" tires!
