Re: Quigley??? NEVER AGAIN!

If I was a betting man I would bet your van got pushed back in the schedule for a fleet conversion account.

Re: Quigley??? NEVER AGAIN!

I can't back any of the following claims with real data, but, I'd bet that:

Quigley has been converting Ford vans longer than Quad, Advanced, UJOR, SMB, etc. combined.
Quigley has converted more Ford vans than the above combined.
Quigley converts more Ford vans annually than the above combined.
Quigley is the only one of the above that Ford sells as new product through dealerships.

I'm seeing a bit of evidence in your opening post on this thread that the problem lies with the dealer's promises more than Quigley being inattentive to your needs.

What'd I miss?

An e-mail in August from Quigley giving me a finish date of Sept. 24th. With nothing to follow telling me anything different.

Re: Quigley??? NEVER AGAIN!

My last 2 cents on this...

Companies of Quigley's size, longevity, and certifications in the automotive industry are not set up to miss a scheduled project by weeks or months. In truth, they would have to go out of their way to miss this badly... other production, shipping, receiving, contracts and corporate relations with Ford and buying entities would be hugely affected.

Your project may have been a one-in-a-million miss on their part, but I'd bet a case of St. Pauli Girl that the rat is within the dealership. Dealerships don't pony-up $1000 travel expense for conversion company snafus, I promise you that.

Anyway, sorry you had trouble with it, and peeling off the Quigley stickers may help some. Just don't drive it "54,000 worst driving/roughest miles ever" ala Elltom. Sell it or reconvert it somewhere else and you might find a happier existence. Peace out

Re: Quigley??? NEVER AGAIN!

Understand your frustration.

I had a really bad experience with Advanced 4X4 in SLC with my 4X4 conversion I wanted somebody's ass. .
What I did was just like you are doing voiced and vented, Then I fixed my van myself and have been enjoying it ever since.
It might sound silly but remember its not the vans fault (dont sell it) "someone" messed up big time for sure. .
Being in the industry I would agree with what was said in the other post that it was Ford, I'm sure your dealer ordered a van from the factory and dropped shipped it at quigley late and missed your start build date which is were your delay started then snowed balled from there, but it doesn't really matter at this point.
I hope you have a safe trip.

Ron

Re: Quigley??? NEVER AGAIN!

Quadvan sells through dealerships the same as quigley just on a much smaller scale.

Re: Quigley??? NEVER AGAIN!

You can order a Quigley through any Ford dealership and get full factory warranty on the conversion.

Once saved me $600.

That said, I'd rather have a QuadVan conversion.

Quigley motors and I have kissed and made up. ;-) What happened is water under the bridge and I really want to enjoy this van and the build I'm going to do on it.
Yes, it was a long drug out process but after seeing the van and meeting the folks there, it's not worth staying mad.
I had a chance to visit with Angie Quigley, and she was very apologetic about everything. She didn't sit there and try to give me excuses. I had just received bad information on the schedule and it wasn't followed up on.
So my thoughts? Shit happens and life is short. I'm over it. :-)
Oh, and Bob came to pick me up, on his day off, and gave me a tour of their shop. They have a very impressive operation.
1700 miles on so far and all is good. So yes, I am now a very happy Quigley owner.
