Those with tire carriers can you open your driver side rear door all the way around to 90 degree with the side of the van or does it only open parallel with the side of the van?
Thank you
Luke

Are you asking about a door mounted carrier or a bumper mounted carrier?
If door mounted, at least on mine the tire (tread part) is about 1/4" away from the tail light with then door open 90 degress (parallel to side of van). If open to 95 degrees it touches the tail light, this is also where the door detent stops the door from opening any farther. I have stock 225/75-R16 and it is mounted exactly centered on driver’s side rear door. My passenger side rear door just touches the tire when I open it. Spare is about 2" away from rear door at closest point.
In my case I would need to mount tire in center on back of van so it would be spaced far enough away to allow the door to be opened farther and not hit side of the van. Wouldn’t be able to open the passenger side door without somehow getting driver’s door to open at the same time.
